On Ellipsoidal Bounds for Amplitude Control of LTI Systems
نویسنده
چکیده
One approach to estimating the peak-to-peak gain of an LTI system is to bound the reachable states of the system with an invariant ellipsoid. This report presents numerical evidence suggesting that the best ellipsoidal bound (the so-called-norm) can be poor in the presence of dominant and/or unstable zero dynamics and/or repeated poles. In parallel, the report investigates the use of the system 1-norm to evaluate the conservativeness of the-norm.

The integer word-length optimization known as range analysis (RA) of the fixed-point designs is a challenging problem in high level synthesis and optimization of linear-time-invariant (LTI) systems. The analysis has significant effects on the resource usage, accuracy and efficiency of the final implementation, as well as the optimization time. Conventional methods in recursive LTI systems suffe...
متن کاملThe Exact Solution of Min-Time Optimal Control Problem in Constrained LTI Systems: A State Transition Matrix Approach
In this paper, the min-time optimal control problem is mainly investigated in the linear time invariant (LTI) continuous-time control system with a constrained input. A high order dynamical LTI system is firstly considered for this purpose. Then the Pontryagin principle and some necessary optimality conditions have been simultaneously used to solve the optimal control problem. These optimality ...
متن کاملConstraining Attacker Capabilities Through Actuator Saturation
For LTI control systems, we provide mathematical tools – in terms of Linear Matrix Inequalities – for computing outer ellipsoidal bounds on the reachable sets that attacks can induce in the system when they are subject to the physical limits of the actuators. Next, for a given set of dangerous states, states that (if reached) compromise the integrity or safe operation of the system, we provide ...
متن کاملGlobal stabilization of classes of linear control systems with bounds on the feedback and its successive derivatives
In this paper, we address the problem of globally stabilizing a linear time-invariant (LTI) system by means of a static feedback law whose amplitude and successive time derivatives, up to a prescribed order p, are bounded by arbitrary prescribed values. We solve this problem for two classes of LTI systems, namely integrator chains and skew-symmetric systems with single input. For the integrator...
متن کاملOn Ellipsoidal Techniques for Reachability Analysis. Part II: Internal Approximations Box-valued Constraints
Following Part I, this article continues to describe the calculation of the reach sets and tubes for linear control systems with time-varying coefficients and ellipsoidal hard bounds on the controls and initial states. It deals with parametrized families of internal ellipsoidal approximations constructed such that they touch the reach sets at every point of their boundary at any instant of time...
